Geister specializes in paintings of early American history and the landscapes and people of the upper Mississippi River Valley. His work is used by historical institutions, appears in magazines and children's books, and adorns the walls of numerous collection. Painting with the Captain, a portrayal of Seth Eastman by David Geister, begins at 2:00 p.m. on July 24. This is a hands-on art history program, so bring your own paint brushes and watercolors. The Center will also have materials available for you to use. $5.00 fee; limited space; register early. Ages 7 adult. The SPACE and its First Outdoor Movie Premier go together like - ramma lamma lamma ka dinga da dinga dong!

The SPACE and a group of dedicated volunteers are excited to announce its end of the summer movie event with Danny, Sandy, and the rest of the gang from the popular motion picture Grease. The event is set for Thursday, September 4 in the courtyard at The SPACE and is free to the community.

The festivities will begin at 7pm with a display of old cars, games for the family and a variety of contests. Food and beverages will be available for sale (no carry-ons please). The feature film will begin at dusk, approximately 8:30pm.

Bring a blanket, lawn chair, your family and friends and enjoy a last summer night at The SPACE. This event is a preview to what is coming summer of 2009. Watch for more details as the 2009 season approaches on our website at www.thespaceforcreativity.com.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be postponed until the next evening, September 5.
